After the 2015 Nepal Earthquake, Dolakha district was highly devastated and the majority of houses and schools were completely destroyed. In order to assist the economically deprived and socially marginalized farmers and migrant workers, Prosperous Nepal took the initiative to reconstruct a school to provide quality learning environment for students.
SANA collected $15,000 and partnered with Prosperous Nepal to reconstruct Shree Deuralee Lower Secondary School at Hosinga, Jiri municipality, Dolakha district, Nepal. The project was initiated on 15th November, 2015 and completed on 10th March 2016. The school included eight classrooms, one administration office, two restrooms and a library with about 1000 books. This construction project helped in the creation of employment opportunities for more than ten skilled rural workers and twenty semi-skilled workers. Today, about 150 students attend this school built to be earthquake resistant. SANA is excited for their bright future!
